Great idea! I had paid $8000 plus for a deck to be built and the top wound up dry rotting due to an error of the contractor. Anyhow, this is a wonderful idea for what I have left, which isn't much. Thanks for posting.

Too bad you didn't know to put a protective sleeve around where the dirt would be touching the wood cuz eventually after a while it will rot out but it is still early and you still have an option or an opportunity to seal that piece of wood so you don't lose it protect your assets
